Description: This map presents medium to high resolution imagery for various locations around the world related to major events, such as hurricanes or fires, for which the effects are visible in the imagery. The map also includes coverage information at the small scales to illustrate where imagery is available. The map is meant to overlay and supplement other base imagery available through the World Imagery service which presents a seamless mosaic of 15m imagery for the world and 1-2m imagery for the United States. The imagery presented in this map is typically more detailed and current than the imagery assembled in the World Imagery seamless mosaic, which present imagery before the event. This map currently features sub-meter resolution imagery for the post Hurricane Ike imagery for the Galveston, Texas, area. Additional imagery will be added to this map on a periodic basis as major events happen for which imagery is acquired and made available to ESRI through the ArcGIS Online Content Sharing Program (CSP).
